Dear Doc,

I have been recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and I am yet to start treatment. It is not clear to me yet what kind of treatment I will get. This will be determined next friday. I want to go to this first meeting with my oncologist prepared and I am writing down questions, but it occurred to me that one of my most important concerns is that I want to keep diving, and that my doctor may not have all the knowledge to answer this question. It is kind of twofold;
firstly and most importantly: I definitely want to get back to diving in the long run so I need to know the possible side effects of some drugs in relation to diving, like lung function impairment etc.
secondly: Can I go diving in between treatments? I really want to, haha!

I know that my lungs themselves are in the clear so I don't have to worry about partial obstructions.
I know that you cannot tell me if I can dive or not, but I would much appreciate any general info you could provide me with. I have already checked out some of the posts that came up after searching "Chemotherapy", but they seem to center on lungcancer.

so many thanks for anything you could tell me

Kind regards,
subQ

Thanks for the info doc! I also checked out the mayo clinic site which is great.

I was also wondering is there anybody around whose has actually worked this problem themselves? Divewise I mean.

regards, subQ
