I've gone through several hoods - my last purchase was an Otter Bay custom hood and it is the best of them all. If you do not go custom then you might also want to switch to a dry suit hood....which just means it doesn't have a tuck-in bib. I've found that hooded vests and hoods with bibs will have tighter necks. If you go custom then you should be able to get whatever kind of setup you want and have it fit. WetWear.com is another custom wetsuit shop - they are in Hallandale FL.

A few ideas,

Not sure if you stated it above but are you diving with a dry suit hood, 7mm,5mm? or a wet suit hood/

I got a big dome and ive found the bare drysuit hood works really well. first thing I do is cut about an inch off the face area, then I leave the zipper all the way up.

another idea is using a wet suit hood, then cut the neck pretty high, about an inch below the jaw
