How do you get the surgical tubing on the pencil? <UW Slate Content>

Try chamfering the pencil then dip the end in rubbing alcohol... it should slide in, maybe will need some elbow grease and cuss words. The alcohol acts as a lubricant and then evaporates. The cuss words just make you feel better.
 
Roll the tubing back on itself by turning one end inside out. Roll it back about an inch. Sharpen the dull end of the pencil just a little, so that a squared off pointy bit fits inside the tubing. Now roll the tubing onto the pencil.

Incidentally, I also use the Pilot Croquis pencil. Works really well, even with thick gloves on. Highly reccomended.
