Mines on my right BC shoulder strap. Why? because it wont fit on my belt with integrated weight(the pouches almost touch in the middle) the left strap has my inflator tube on it... I've broken that once and don't what to be waving sharp objects near it unnecesariliy. My BC has nylon webbing over padded straps, so the zip ties holding the knife on are go betwen the padding and the webbing. Make sure you can pull out and return the knife with both hands with gloves on. I thought my knife was excessively big until I tried to pull out and hold it wearing 5mm gloves. It seems much smaller with my hands wrapped in rubber.
