I am considering taking a few technical diving courses. Could i hear your opinions on IANTD and TDI please. The majority of people i know tell me to go for IANTD but i would like more opinions. Thanks guys. :)

Were are you taking your courses? Personally, I have seen a lot of TDI and IANTD instructors that I would not trust my cat with. Check out GUE's stuff at http://www.gue.com and check with each instructor to see how they teach, if they go beyond the min. standards (they should), and see if you feel comfortable diving with them.

Hi,

I'm considering TDI.
When I contacted IANTD at the DEMA I didn't exactly enjoyed the way I was treated.
Not to mention that in Portugal a certification card takes ages to arrive!
Just my 2 cents.

What, exactly, do you plan to do that requires technical training?
Knowing that will help you select an agency.

Thx guys. I am in England Eric. To start with i want to do a my basic nitrox course 32 and 36% 02. Then onto decompression nitrox using upto 60 maybe 70% 02. So basically i want a course (courses) that will give me a full understanding of diving with Enriched air.

Well,

GUE's Tech 1 goes from Nitrox all the way to Triox, which is a light Tri Mix. From what I hear very through and well taught. Check out UK Gas divers at: http://www.gasdiving.co.uk/

Up grading your skills is always a good idea. I have taken courses through TDI and have found them to be informative and interesting. I still think it comes down to the Instructor and there teaching skills. I do not think that I could handle someone behind me yelling STROKE, STROKE.
Think about where you want to go diving and then find out what skills you need to get there. A lot if the skills you need will come from practice, so dive, dive and dive.
