Being new to diving I have no idea what PNG and GBR stand for!

I'm new here, but I've been lucky enough to dive Australia (Great Barrier Reef and Coral sea), Belize, Maldives, Truk, Yap, Northern and Southern Egypt and Papua New Guinea. To date I would agree with many of the previous posts that Papua New Guinea is the best reef diving yet, particularly so if you like sharks as I do!

I'm trying to plan a last couple of big trips before having to settle down and be a responsible adult for a while. From my continuous research I hear that the Eastern Fields (far north coral sea, reached from Papua New Guinea) is a real ultimate destination.

Its live aboard only, and the boat alone will set you back 2500 GBP. Carl Roessler has dived here and describes it as his ultimate site. I would dearly like to hear from anyone who's done this trip!

If you are interested in my previous trips, have lots of photos on my web site.
