Going cruising in the Bahamas - decided we want to expierience everything possible in the Islands!

Freshman year of college, 1978. Roommate walks in to dorm room and says he signed us up for diving classes. I told him he was an idiot, and there was no way I was going to dive. He never became certified, and I am still here 25 years later. Love it.

1. To look at all the cool stuff down there.

2. To collect some of the good things to eat.

3. Great excuse to wear that nifty rubber suit. :D

I grew up in Venezuela on the ocean. Learned to swim at 5. Was avid spearfisherman at age 13. Used compressed air for first time at age 15. Was initially taught by navy diver (mentor & buddy) Dived for years before certification was invented. Am still diving and the rest is history. I love it and some of the best people I've ever met have been associated with diving!!!
