Wild Bill, yes the water is cold, around 55 degrees give or take a few. However it is great diving, especially under the kelp canopy. The sea Lions are curious, sometimes they will tug at your fins, but usually they just like to "buzz" by you which can get your heart pumping when this big thing comes out of nowhere and flies right by.
