Question Is a Mk25 overkill for recreational tropical water dives?

Be excited. That's a great reg set that should last you forever (if properly taken care of), and breathe beautifully (tuned correctly).

If you’re diving a MK 25 you’ll die! It may tank several more years but it’s a sure thing.

It is very windy here and sea is up, no diving for the next week at least. April is always very bad for diving here.

Just use whatever you feel comfortable with. I use a MK25 first stage and only the coldest water I dive in is 26C.
