I'm a Fish!
I have 1 week on Palau Aggressor. Where best to dive for 1 more week? I know Truk is great but quite far to reach - I am starting in Manila.

Out of Yap or Guam? Anyone got any ideas which is best? Guam certainly has the better flight connections but I don't see much discussion on it as a dive destination

Big bubbles of thanks for any advice and info

Yap is better, I live in Saipan and dive Guam frequently. Guam is fine and has some good sites, but if it is either Yap OR Guam I would absolutely choose Yap.

I was in Guam 2 weeks ago and enjoyed my diving there. But after diving in Palau, I think Guam would be....a little bit of a let down for you. Guam is nice, relaxing, easy, just not super exciting. Just very enjoyable. I saw lots of different fish there, just not BIG schools of fish. Enjyo your trip where ever you go. As long as you're under blowing bubbles.....it's all good. :)

I agree with daz, Guam is great for those of us living here - but wouldn't be a good destination, especially after Palau. It's also not really set up well for tourists, unless you're with a Japanese group, it's certainly not like Palau. The boats are very nice and very cheap, but you would need a buddy or a DM would need to be hired.
If it were me, I'd do another week of land-based diving in Palau with Sam's Tours.
If you really just want another island, I would go with Yap!

Yeah, what they said. Guam has some good diving, but I wouldn't choose it over another week in Palau or a week in Yap. And even Truk is only 2 hours from Guam, so getting there wouldn't be a big deal, either. Yap is great - we just got back two weeks ago and loved it. Way more laid-back than Palau and not the pressure of 15 boatloads of divers all trying to hit the best spots at the same time.
