Is my compass defective?

I can't see a bubble in my Uwatec compass. There's no needle because it uses a kind of floating dial. Maybe there's a bubble under the dial.
 
It's my understanding that a bubble will form and increase in size with direct exposure to the sun. Kind of hard to protect your compass on many above water situations. The bubble in my compass has slowly increased in size over time.

Nice thing is, the bubble gets smaller the deeper I go. Now that is a nice feature! :wink:

I use a Suunto A10 and it doesn't have a bubble...then again it isn't specifically a dive compass.
