Is there a hand signal for "wait a moment" or something similar

"Closed fist", always meant danger to us when I first started diving. "Hold on" for me is just Cop stop hand as mentioned above.

My students learn that crossing my index fingers (like crossed bones) means danger/don't touch. Crossing my fore arms meant a whole lot more danger.
