Two divers died while diving on the Costa Brava
11.04.2012 / 16:51 h EFE

Two divers, 41 and 60, have died today while diving in Palamos and Port de la Selva, on the coast of Girona, sources reported Salvage.

The first of the divers, 41, died about 13 hours today after a dive in the vicinity of Palamos.

Salvage has received a notice from the recreational boat "Arrakis" in which they warned that a diver who was on board could have died and another 3, still submerged, it was possible they were in trouble.

Immediately Salvage has moved to the area's rapid response vessel "Salvamar Sirius," which, when he arrived on the scene, found that three of the divers had surfaced and were in good condition.

The rescue boat has taken the lifeless body of his companion to the port of Palamos, while the boat "Arrakis" has led to three divers at the same port.

In the second accident, which took place in the area of El Port de la Selva, the vessel "Llissa Three" has reported that he had on board a diver with cardiac arrest and was unresponsive to resuscitation.

Salvage has mobilized the ship "Salvamar Alnilam", an ambulance and a helicopter medicalized EMS 061.

The ship "Llisa Three" has entered the harbor of Port de la Selva and once there it was confirmed that the diver, 60, had died.

In the same area yesterday sank the fishing boat "Basibina" against Palamos (Girona) and its three crew members had to be collected from a raft by other nearby fishing.

Rest in peace my friend.
