California storms can bring steady rain, but more infrequently with the thunder and lightning that accompany storms in the midwest, or south, or Caribbean. We're almost more used to earthquakes than lightning storms and the strength of tropical rain.

Little rain never hurt anybody(lots may have). The water is clear and warm, I'm gonna be wet anyway. The water temp is warmer than the air temp at home, so as for the rain, it won't deter me much.

Last day of diving at home 52' water temp, 2 night dives in Cozumel 3 hours ago, 80'f. :)
