Hi all,
Sorry to come across as 'one of those guys' but if this is timely or of interest please read on.

It was searching through these forums that we discovered how hard it was for divers, especially commercial divers, to obtain a decent life insurance policy. I've also seen posts from other agents/divers claiming to have access to 20+ companies. None of that really matters when all of them say no because you are certified for or routinely go below 300'.
Most of the bigger contractors give you a decent group policy, but those are rarely portable (keep them when you leave), you have no ownership rights and none of them build any sort of cash value for your personal use. DAN only gives you $15,000 at the most.

If you have searched for a life policy but found that you are getting 'no offer' or ridiculously high ratings, please drop us a line. We specialize in commercial and recreational divers.

Open water to 100' - no surcharges
AOW 100-130' possible standard
AOW or DS 131-150' as little as $3.50 per thousand extra
Commercial to 600' as little as $10 per thousand extra

Cave, wreck, night, rescue or salvage divers are generally individual consideration within the above parameters.
Sorry, free divers are still uninsurable.

I tried Sun Life, USAA and AllState and all denied me. The scuba diving was okay with all three, but the skydiving and rockclimbing, they didnt like so much. I showed them proof of a C license for skydiving and my log book and I showed them my AMGA TRSM & rock I certifications and they still said no insurance. Been doing these hobbies for well over 25 years and still am alive (never decked and never been bent) but that didnt matter to them.

Aren't we all invincible when we're young?!?!

Dadediver: Not that it matters too much for the past, but think of it this way:
the company has just one chance to decide on a risk, then it's too late. Life insurance is a unilateral (one-sided) contract; as long as you keep the payments going as planned, they cannot cancel you for any reason. Once issued, they are on the hook for whatever the amount is - whether that's $15,000 or 2 million. The only non-paying scenario (other than felony-related death) is suicide and that's just for the first 2 years.
If you want, PM me and we'll see what we can do!
