Semi-rare no-profit trip at a great price!

Experienced divers only.

Limited Load!

This will be a two-tank local trip aboard a well-appointed charter boat. You'll have all your own gear for this one. Both sites are deep-ish, so you'll want to bring your own steel tanks filled with nitrox (or doubles/rebreather). (29% would be a good mix for the first dive.) The boat DOES NOT provide nitrox refill.

Boat provides food and drinks between dives.

COST: $118.44 (Paypable via Paypal after you RSVP on the right.) I dropped a few spots off the boat loadout to give us a bit more elbow room. Limited load!

CERT: You MUST have Advanced certification or greater... and the skills and ability that go with it. (Be prepared to show your card to the boat captain.)
CHECK-IN: 7:00 am.

DIVE SITES

Wreck of the Hogan: Wickes-class destroyer laying on a mostly sandy bottom in 130' of depth. Direction orientation is roughly North-East/South-West. Close to the US/Mexico border. Wreck is mostly collapsed, though bow and stern have some structure to them. Very easy to follow the ships centerline and lots of things to explore. Wolf eels seen here in the past month. Currents possible.

Train Wheels: In a section of the Ancient Sea Cliffs off Point Loma. ACTUAL train wheels, on axles, inside the mouth of a cavern. Swim-through chimney at back of cavern. Cavern mouth starts at 95'. Beautiful kelp plateau at 55-75'.

The boat also provides great food and drinks between dives. Hot soup! And, oh yes, they have a hot, fresh-water shower on-board too.

To make reservations: RSVP here

Pointers:

BRING YOUR CERT CARD(s).
Don't push the limits of your training and skill level. My lawyer will kick your ass.
Don't forget to tip the boat crew if they do a good job for you. These specialty trips require more logistics and planning to set up. Be kind to the crew. More so than on a "regular" trip.

Boat Etiquette Reminder:
Don't be late.
Don't clog up the marine head with Baby Ruth bars, tampons, or similar.

If you have to cancel, do it well before the cutoff time so Bill has a chance to sell your seat.
