Thanks everyone. You gave me much to think about. We've had great dives in the Largo area and are reconsidering ... :confused:

While Key Largo is excellent, if you can find a way to hit Looe Key, do it.
It can just be a little tricky with the right boat and the right weather to actually do it though.
My wife and I used to stay in Key Largo for a week at a time, and would typically schedule a day in Key Weird.
We would load up the gear and drive down towards Ramrod to try and catch a boat to Looe Key.
It did take three tries to finally get good weather, but we tried in the windy time of year.
If things go south, you just keep going to Key Weird for the day and catch a dive there.
