Thanks for the tip on Yekoranu homestay-it seems that I might just be able to work Raja Ampat into my budget after all!
 
Thanks again for the help guys. One more question...for those of you who have been to Komodo, can you reccommend a place to dive with/stay? Are liveaboards really the only way to go to reach the good sites?

i think so, yes! best way to see varied sites and include dives in the south (nusa kode, manta alley), you could do day boats from Laabuan Bajo and still have an awesome experience but if you like critters and want more site diversity then a liveaboard is the best way forward.
