Wow, some of you guys need to get out a ruler if you are willing to get into pissing contests over the trivial.

Dive 50's, don't dive 50's, who cares.

Personally, I dive 2 lp 50s and a stage often. Works for me.
 
For those of you sidemounting these lovely tanks in the caves - Do you usually carry stage tanks, or are they for short, specific dives only?
45s and 50s are for short OC sumps *OR*
CCR BO but not from as far back as the FL folks dive them.

Some of us are on SM CCR because we can't carry bigger cylinders that far. As explained, you rapidly experience diminishing returns with compressibility. I have never carried a stage with baby cave tanks. The weight of an AL80 (on land) completely negates the point of bringing the baby tanks to the cave in the first place and at that point I'll bring 2x 85s or 100s instead.
