I'm considering doing a 2 week liveaboard on either the Sea Queen or Sea Spirit in the Maldives in early January 2004.

Has anyone been on either of these and if so what did you think?

I'm led to believe that the Sea Queen may be the better boat, can anyone confirm this?

Finally, what are peoples opinions as to the best time of year to dive the Maldives? Is January good for pelagics?

Many thanks

Ben

I went to Maldives a couple of years ago around Christmas time; pelagics were pretty good: saw many mantas, white tips and black tips, turtles and barracudas. Visibility was all right but not amazing (around 10 - 20 m). The seas were a bit rough.
unfortunatly didn't come across hammerheads or whale sharks
