Maldives-oct-water Temp

i will be diving off a liveaboard this oct 15-27 at suvadiva atoll.
what kind of water temps while diving can be expected?
a look at the globe shows this area just north of the equator.
this is my first trip to this part of the world so i'm trying to get prepared for anything that might pop up.
any tips from anyone who has dived in this area will be appreciated.
i plan on taking notes so i can offer a decent trip report upon my return.

Water temperatures in the Maldives rarely vary much beyond 27-30 degrees celsius. I was there in December 2001 and wore a full 3mm wetsuit which was fine for me. YMMV.
