Interesting. According to "Mysteries of the Sea", Sperm Whales are capable of diving to at least 9,000 feet. Most of the evidence was anecdotal though, such as capturing Sperm Whales with bottom-dwelling sharks in their stomachs when the depth of water in any direction for miles was 9000-10000 feet deep.
