Hi all, I need some advice

I did my PADI Rescue course back in 2009 w/o taking the final exam, and I therefore didn't get my certification.
It was a deliberate choice, because all I wanted, back then, was the experience rather than the card.
3 years down the road, I now need the certification to move on to DM. I wonder if I can go through the exam now (i.e. 3 years later) or do I need to repeat part of(or all) the rescue course ?
Note : my EFR has been recently refreshed.

TIA
Vassilis

Hi Vassilis,
I just looked through the Instructor Manual looking for an answer to your question and I could not find any guidance. So I will tell you what I would do if a prior student returned to me under the same circumstances.

I would make them:
1. Provide a new conduct both Medical Release.
2. Conduct both In water exercises(charge a fee for the dives)
3. Take the exam.
4. Pay for the certification envelope.

If you are thinking of going to another instructor I think you will need to do the entire course.

CHeers,
Roger
