Monterey clean Up Dives Sept 20th

I went last year and it was pretty nifty--an opportunity to dive under the municipal wharf with the encouragement, rather than ****** attitude, from the Harbormaster staff. And EVERYONE went home with at least a t shirt (well, not me, I gave mine to someone who looked like he wanted it more), if not something much nicer, like a BCD. Free parking, free food, free air fills.
This year it coincides with national? or at least statewide clean-up campaign.
Unfortunately, it's my travel day to a DAN meeting in Hawaii (darn! but I appreciate everyone's sympathy). I don't know whatever happened to the initial idea to have one quarterly or semi-annually....
