The 70lbs bag limit is the best part of business class.

My bag was under 50lbs last time. Will check regs this time and just carry on lights, computers/transmitters, and masks. My spinner carryon didn’t work out well, so I’m going to order a new one that’s a roller. My big REI wheeled duffle was fine.

I still pack them around 50lbs, you just don't have to be as picky, particularly on the return trip where you are in "F this I'm too tired to pack this" *smash smash smash close bag run to the airport*

I love my REI duffles. I am disappointed that they discontinued the ones I have with the boot compartments. It was nice to keep my dirty boots separate.

Got my flight. Business class on AA. Always been smushed with the unwashed masses before so this will be nice! Third row, aisle seat.

Errrr ... that kinda made you (like the rest of us) part of the "the unwashed masses." Just sayin ...

I hate being squished. No leg room in coach and I’m 5’5”. I don’t know how taller people do it.

I finally had time yesterday to get on Airbnb and Booking.com to really look at options. I remembered what instructor had told me about safe area, so I pulled up Aventura Mexicana on Google Maps on iPhone and had the booking sites on iPad. Too many were in the party area near 5th Ave. I stayed on 10th Ave North and found a condo at 10th Ave North and Calle 30. $70/night in an elevator building AND an in unit washer/dryer. No more stomping my clothes clean while I’m taking a shower.

Cost is about $200 total more than I paid in August for Aventura Mexicana, but this is high season. The washer/dryer is worth every penny. There were lots cheaper, but they had stairs or were on 5th Ave.

Instructor/dive guide told me there’s a supermarket close.
