Ok, DIY lights, hose minders and camera housings are great and fun, but does anyone experiment with new types of material for suits, cork screw fins, submersible's, built from scratch pontoon dive boats, gear donning rigs, weight integration harnesses, underwater communication devices; just to name a few.
C'mon people let's get DIY inventing. Or even expressing differen't ideas to get feedback on potential projects.
But let's do it in a safe and responsible manner.

OK, you first. Lets see some stuff!

What I did is pretty simple :

a. Slate from an broken white plastic garden chair.
b. Octopus holder (a collection of pieces from an old backbag).
c. 1 and 2 kilograms lead hard weights.
d. Weight belt.
e. 2.5 kilograms lead hard weight covered with 3 mm neoprene for my WI BCD.
f. Safe mirror from a 316 stainless steel plate.
g. Boots and Gloves dryer.
h. Small Boots and Gloves dryer for traveling.

I made 2 cataraft tubes from scratch. I've used them on class 3+ whitewater for over 5 years now. My good frame didn't fit my raft. I'm sure the technique could work for a dive platform. Anyone interested I'll send info.

I am thinking folding A-frame winch that lifts your gear and is mounted in your trunk / truck bed. Imagine if you didn't have to lift your doubles onto your back, but could just lower them on with an electric winch.

Either that or create a canoe one could dive from, that would be cool too.
