Thanks Maui Diver - those will be helpful as I dive mostly on the coast between Kaanapali and Napili - won't have to drive up there to check conditions any longer :D

i know....its a hot item. try to keep it a secret but unable to.
I have a lot of friends that would kill me if they found out I gave it out.
but oh well, share the wealth, we've been using them for the past 8 years now.

I live north shore so I use them to check the surf/waves. the only thing I do from shore....hehehehehe.

enjoy em....but don't hog em....

aloha.

As I near my first year anniversary on SB, I must say that the chippiness in the Hawaii Ohana is the main reason for my lack of posts. Occassionaly when I do dive in I am stirring the pot a little, and the majority of our regulars can shovel the **** with aloha. Many times when aloha is discarded, there is a common Northern element. My parents encouraged me to not say anything if I had nothing nice to say and so I encourage everyone to say less to said Northern element.

You wouldn't have noticed that this "chippiness" only comes in when there appears to be someone pursuing dishonest gain, would you? (Dishonest gain includes, but is not limited to, activity desks, sending one customer away with claims of poor conditions, then turning around and trying to sell a dive to a similarly experienced customer... pursuing money over the love of diving.)

Doug and I seem to have come to an agreement -- and I think that is possible for you guys, too... it will require me finding out your motivation isn't purely profit, and you finding out that I'm not as socialist as you think... we'll see what time brings.

I have no idea what this means. What is chippiness?

I am looking to do a couple days diving in Maui as well next month. Does anyone have any experience with the Scuba Shack? Found them surfing the net for dive operators.

Everyone I've met from Scuba Shack (two people) have been nice... but I understand others have had issues.

Maui Dreams Dive Co. is great, though... are you looking for boat ops or shore-dive ops? Where (what side of Maui) are you staying?
