i use normally 8-10lbs of weight with 2 hp100 and an eavy drysuit/polabear underware

Plus one on the dry suit confusion. I used to dive the great lakes area as well as mountain lakes where 35 degree bottom temps were the norm. The guys who minimally lofted their dry suits to avoid having to add weight were what we called "cold".

In my experience, the weight requirements for a heavy 7mm farmer john wet suit or 7mm semi dry wet suit, a 7mm neoprene dry suit and a trilam dry suit were all about the same when the diver was suitably warm in cold wat and if anything the dry suit needs a bit more weight to fully loft the insulation of heavier undergarments.

With double 95s (fabers) I have used up to 16 pounds of lead with heavy undergarments in 35 degree water.
