From what I've experienced and seen from others, the incredible level of support from light manufacturers goes well beyond just new sales and warranty service; they simply go above and beyond any industry I know of in terms of standing behind their products. When I first sent in my light to Halcyon for repair, I let them know that I had bought it second-hand, and to charge me for whatever fixes were necessary. The work was still done gratis (or very near so) and with freebies thrown in ("we noticed your switch was catching, and your lid had a scratch on the sealing surface, so we replaced them as well.").

You may want to look into Mb-sub as well. I have a VB-50 canister LED light and I love it. It is focusable and very bright. Check it out!
