Hi friends on PPD

I just returned from my trip from Boracay!
I knew that Boracay is better known for the lovely long white powdery beach (LOVELY) and not for divng, but i did dive a little all the same.
Unfortunately due to the lack of time (and oversleeping), i was unable to do Yapak II which i have been told would be beautiful!
Consequently, my dive experience was not that good, though i must say, the soft corals wre in very good condition!

I may have a chance to take a short break (5 days) mid March.
My dive travel agent suggested either PG or Bohol.

After 3 hours transit at the Manila domastic airport (yawn)on my last trip, i'm more inclined to take the PG offer.

I'm not such a hard core diver, i also enjoy a nice rest, place to stay, some local "tourisim" and other outdoor activities!
Where of the 2 places is there, better diving, accomadations, shopping, other activities etc?

All in one, should i take PG or Bohol?

thanks for any input!

if you're intesrsted in the night out kind of "tourism", i'd suggest PG.... bohol is great if you just want to lay back read a book and talk to the tarsiers :)

As for me it would be Bohol…if you like the powdery beach and great diving, Bohol is the answer.

I found it a bit faster to get to Bohol than to PG esp. if you can get a direct flight to Bohol, which is a little over an hour then a short jeepney (15min) to the resort. Even if you have to stop at Cebu its still better than a long bus ride (2.5 to 3 hrs) to Batangas then another ride on the ferry (1.5 hrs) to PG.

As for nightlife, PG is not what I would call “nightlife” it’s more of a made up scene for the tourist. The real nightlife I’ll leave for Makati, Quezon City or Manila. I’ll leave the serious diving to the Visayas and the Sulu Sea. And you need not be a “hardcore” diver to enjoy Bohol overall, it is what diving in the Philippines should be, with clear waters and abundant marine life and throw in the white sand beaches as a bonus.

Hopefully Gilligan can input on this, I believe he is in Bohol/Cebu right now.

thanks guys
i was thinking bohol is a better choice, but the 3 1/2 hours wait for my connecting flight at the domestic airport in manila REALLY put me off the idea!
i think my agent was not able to get an earlier flight with less wait time...

c'mon try Anilao

kirbys for the heck of it
beatrice
mainit
bahura
larrys garden
sepok
sepok 2
saddle

PG since time is of essence. But I'd love to go to Bohol - don't let a 3 hr wait kill ya. Casino Filipino, Duty Free, or Air Force One are close by if you need time to kill. :)

chip,
it was the domestic terminal!
absolutely nothing there!

hm..... will check with my agent to see if i can get a quick connecting flight!

I'd vote for Bohol. Cathay Pacific flies to Cebu and from there, you just catch a ferry to Bohol.
