There is cool quarry near Anniston, which is on the way to Huntsville. It's called Diveland Park.

I've dove there and can say that there are thermoclines every 10 feet. It's rather fascinating to see that many changes in temp and vis. There are sunken boats, vehicles, etc. In a June dive last year I hit 53 degrees at 112'. The surface temp was around 70 degrees.
