Question about Sea-Quest Pro QD

I just bought a brand new Sea-Quest Pro QD. I noticed that under the back pad there are three small tears in the fabric. It almost looks like they were put there intentionally since all are the same size and each has four small cuts that go out from the center. Does anyone have a Pro QD with these tears?

Mine has them also. I believe they are for water drainage.

I talked with Sea-Quest and they said that those spots are where the machine that sews the vests grabs the vest.
