. Some will tell you that they are similar to Apeks, Dive Rite, etc. The fact is that all regs are similar in that they do the same thing.
They do not have the same assembly procedures and torque specs.
I'm a HOG reg tech instructor and have seen the results of someone using the wrong procedure more times than I care to.

except for the fact that we were told to use those assembly procedures and torque specs years before the hog manual was written and that is what the manual was based off of.... The Dive Rite manual does have a backwards assembly procedure, but the Apeks is spot on. I'd have to go back and check the torque specs, but I can't imagine they're much different
 
The Canadian HOG distributor, The Dive Academy, is setting up a repair course for me, I should have all the details soon....these guys are very accommodating.
