What did I do? I got them to reduce the IP on the MR22, returned the octo and got a store credit, which I immediately used to buy a trip on a boat in West Palm. I bought a MARES octo elsewhere today. I think I am still going to buy that Aqualung Legend from the other shop as funding allows, but for now I am doing OK with the one I have. From now on, I will get my service done elsewhere.

I didn't know about the "Mark" story until I heard it from the other two stores, after my MR22 had already been serviced. The manager of the LDS confirmed it earlier this week.

You need to go to another store and tell your buddy, the manager, why. If enough people complain then maybe the owner will take action and replace the tech. As others have mentioned, you were treated dishonestly by the technician. The tech set the ip to 145, which is within spec but on the high side. Then tried to use this to sell you an new regulator.
