Shame on me. I gave up on the project when I found a replacement Genesis BCD at a reasonable price. I guess I just wasn't ready to risk my life support equipment on the fix from Singapore. They offered to have me send the bcd to them for a factory repair, but I didn't want to be without a bcd for six months, so I went for the replacement. Thank goodness for the electronic-bay for having an adequate range of pre-owned gear.

I'd love to find out how the repair kit actually works. I hope someone who gets a chance to try it and will post pictures and comments. Sorry for the time gap.
