Interestingly enough, when we went to Wakatobi last year, our first afternoon was a shore dive on the house reef right off the resort. Our guide said to do a mask remove and replace underwater, and I looked at him and said "seriously, dude?". I don't know if he was just messing with us or checking to see how comfortable we were in the water, but it was the only time I can remember taking my mask off under water not being in a class setting

Strange. Maybe he had someone he was guiding freak out on him once when the mask got kicked off by a buddy or something. I have no issues with removing my mask, flooding it, replacing it, etc. I just hate opening my eyes under water. Not a problem if it were life or death I suppose!
