Silver is my preference. BUT if silver were out of stock, I'd take the gold one without hesitation. I wouldn't walk away from a good piece of gear just because it isn't "pretty enough". 
I love the new Gold one, it looks more like a brushed gold, more than shinny cheapy gold.
I wish I had $900....
If you purchased too many of them, and the gold ones are just sat there for while, I'll give one a good home!
