Shore diving in Florida?

Easiest shore dive (easy access to the beach, easy entry, pretty short swim) - lauderdale by the sea (off commercial blvd)

Pompano (off atlantic ave) is my favorite shore dive as the ledge/dropoff reef structure and life is better than lauderdale. But to swim out to the dropoff it is about a 30 minute swim (marked by white buoys). There is some reef before it, but its mostly rubble and patches.

anywhere from Pompano to Hollywood has good shore diving -- and housing isn't bad in the hollywood area either. I'm close to the beach, good grocery, theaters (movies & live), Hard Rock (casinos,bars,restaurants,nightclubs, comedy clubs), and then a short drive either north or south is great boat dives from west palm to the keys. and there are good places just to snorkel around here too.

Broweird is def your best bet. Just mentally prepare yourself for awful traffic with insane drivers and lots of rude people.

If it were me (and a couple of decades ago, it was me). I'd move to Central Florida. I'm 60 miles from the Gulf. 60 Miles from the Atlantic. 2 hours from great wrecks in Pompano. 90 Minutes from the greatest cave diving in N. America, and 4 hours from the Wrecks and Reefs of the Keys.

My favorite is Lauderdale By The Sea. I'll be diving there for a week in June.
