Considering the weather and seas, I can't blame him for missing it. There was no marker buoy, just a spot known by distant land marks. I think we were on it but by the time we all splashed and drifted a little, it was gone.

I think it was pretty low risk to splash in again but I didn't want to chance it since I was flying the very next day.

Five others climb on the boat with no safety stop. I do 2 minutes and climb on board.
BTW, don't allow yourself to feel pressured into blowing off or cutting short your safety stops. Impatient DM or no, I'd have done 3 minutes minimum for my safety stop, and at least one or two additional minutes from 15' to the surface.
