Spontaneous LOB in Indonesia

Hello All - I am planning to be in Indonesia and focusing on diving in Sept - Nov, with some flexibility. Has anyone ever had any luck or heard of the situation of arranging LOB while there? Meaning a scenario of showing up in Labuan Bajo or Sorong or another popular port and arrange on the fly?
I'm imagining there would be opportunity for a solo diver with flexibility to find a boat that "needs to fill" a cabin or spot.
Any and all input on this scenario or experience would be much appreciated.

Yes I hope you can - that's what I'm hoping to do!
I'm thinking of staying at scuba junkies near LBJ and sorting out a lob from there. If you manage to get anything sorted before I get there in November can you post it on here please.
