I am looking at the apeks wtx series. What does anybody think about the setup compared to others advantages or disadvantages.

for a couple years/couple hundred dives... an I love it... , I believe it'll be all I'll ever need, whether rec or tec.
only downside were no pouches/pockets... festooned with D-rings, but no pockets... not a major issue.
I've used it w/o a backplate for tanks from 80 - 121 w/o difficulty, and can add the plate at some later date for doubles if/when required.
if your LDS is an AquaLung shop you can buy it through them and earn a lil' goodwill locally.
