Here is a short clip of us on a cave diving in Thailand. Cave diving is growning in the Asia area. I just was teaching two students and found a new cave and managed to lay a couple hundred meters inside. We did a 90 minute dive poking around on the inside. We managed to see some large cat fish and some blind fish. We had around 8-10 meters of viz with some large passageways.

Thanks for sharing. The formations are quite pretty, is that typical of a cave in the Krabi area?

To be truthful this is probable one of the nicer caves I have been in. There are a couple others cave diving around here that might have seen something nicer but this one had some of the nicest formations I have seen. I have alot more exploring to do, hopefully find more.

Is there much flow in these caves? (From the formations, I would suspect not.) What's the water temperature?

I never really noticed any flow in any of the caves I have been in here in Thailand. The caves I dive are mostly in land lakes. One location I go about 30 years ago they built a dam and flooded the area. I started looking for caves in these lakes around 5 years ago or so. The water temp is roughly 28 and a thermocline around 20 meters and gets to around 25. I never actually checked my gauges to see the exact temperatures. I wear a full 5 m suit, others that I have dove with have worn 3 m shorties and managed.

Temperatures are similar to Mexico then.

Hmm... this is all very interesting. I need to visit Thailand soon, and getting some cave dives in will be a lot of fun.

Don
I have courses and trips going on all the time, let me know when you would want to go. I also run quite a few trips to the Philippines where I have alot of virgin caves to explore. This next trip I think we have about 6 or 7 virgin caves to check out.
