Cowfish, sea horses, bull sharks, sheepshead: Why aren't puffer fish called goat heads?

Edit: Having lived in the West and the Deep South, sand spurs are more prolific and much nastier than goat heads.
 
I thought there was a landmark rock formation called goat's head?

...because sometimes the origional topic was answered dozens of times already.

discuss one subject, but eventually led to a discussion about a completely unrelated topic?
Because the other subject may be related in some way and is interesting to talk about?

That is unless of course you have people who are actually derailing discussion about the original topic, perhaps intentionally.
