Just make sure you don't start having dreams of being a trigger on the nights of the full moon...

Sounds like a great movie Idea
"Teenage Triggerman in Kona"

The Plot, a man bitten by a triggerfish starts attacking tourists and biting thier ankles and elbows as they stroll Alii Drive. Soon the entire cruise ship is infected and people start diving overboard to chew moss off the reefs competing with the Parrot fish and Green Sea turtles. Soon it turns into an ecological disaster and FEMA is called in.

BTW, I have had them nail my elbows and it hurts like a beach!

Welcome to the board Tracy.. Sorry about your incident.... I hope this does not stop you from diving...??

I have personally dealt with someone who has lost ther ear from a trigger fish!! They are nasty little creatures!!!! Maybe hollywood could make a film about them!!
As for any problems.. not normally known to carry anything, but obviously the sea is dirty so infections are easy. Would be better to see a doctor where you are to look at the local area. Scars do take a long time to heal, and some swelling is normal, moniter it for a while and watch for new pain or redness.

Enjoy!

Hi thanks again to you all for your replies.

I think from what others have said it is alot of scar tissue and apparently the deep penetration from its teeth will have damaged tissue and could take a while to break up (if ever) redness or such so guess will give it a bit more time and hope i dont' keel over in the mean time! ha!

cheers
