I'm planning on getting my tubes tied this year....please let me know what time span I can look forward to before I can dive?

I'm debating whether to have it done now...or wait until fall when dive season is over. I don't want to miss out on too much but I'd rather have it done asap.

This is best discussed with your surgeon.

Provided there are no infection or healing issues with the surgical wounds, there shouldn't be any problem.

Barotrauma issues crop up if there are internal gas filled spaces left from the surgery. An example of this would be a pneumatic procedure on an eye where a gas bubble is purposely introduced.

Hey Starfishy, bet you'd never figure I was reading this!!

"The boss" had this done (Several times,.....long story) and she was diving inside of two weeks without undue concern. Her doctor gave her no set time.

Steve.

Generally speaking you would want to wait a couple of weeks after any stitches/staples were removed. This allows time for these small holes to heal so that nothing gets in them that may set up an infection.

Starfish,

If you're a DAN member, give them a call. They've got info on all kinds of post-surgery dive info, and since this is a common procedure, I'm sure they could help you out.
