I never did end up sending my versa pros in for service. The temperature difference wasn't a huge deal for me and I decided I might as well use the ebay one despite the depth error rather than shell out $85 to get it recalibrated, so that's what I did. However the battery died on my on my last dive trip and after I replaced it and that eliminated the depth error - I guess there's the 'amount of battery left' display error. Now both computers give exactly the same depth readings. For temperature the ebay one still reads one celcius too low and the other one one celcius too high, but that's not a big deal to me since I'm aware of it.
