cripes. hand to hand combat is for people with time to waste.

If you found youself faced with a panicky diver, a basic martial arts knowledge and the "gotchas" that McLaughlin mentions (drag, base, weight) really COULD help you get someone to the surface with less damage than ripping off their weight belt :)

That said, the chance of you needing to know the advanced techniques are so vanishingly rare that I could think of MUCH better ways to spend my time in Hawaii :wink:
