I have a Hyper Aqualand and it's a great watch as well as a good little dive companion. Tells the time well and it is also helpful when diving for depth, dive time, temperatures etc.

Good choice in my opinion, BUT their new Cyber Aqualand NX is even 'nifty-er'

Seiko 200m with a black face and a black rubber band - classic. Also rugged as can be and fairly unobtrusive when you aren't diving. Plus they are pretty cheap, got mine here in hong kong for about $120US but i'd guess it's a bit more in the states (assuming that's where you are, forgive me if i'm wrong).

Look for a St. Moritz automatic, it is a classic style, reasonably priced and self winding.

The Tag quartz electric classic style would be my choice of battery powered watches. I have one that is 25 years old and still going strong with its new battery every second year.
