I have a question…..
Christmas is around the corner and I wanted to ask Santa Clause for a fully equipped paramedic bag for use when I am a dive master.

1) What should really be in the paramedic kit?
2 pocket masks.
An air bag for the masks.
Thick gloves.
4 Triangle bandages.
But what else????

2) I also what to ask for an O2 kit, what are the recommendations here? Should I just get DAN’s O2 kit?

3) Is there any other miscellaneous items that I am not thinking of I should ask for?

Cheers
Lost in Translation.

As long as you are going the para route I'd ask for air splints, squeeze or spray bottles of antiseptic, ammonia to neutralize stings, and any other necessary fluids like eyewash. I also carry minor pain meds (ibuprofen, aspirin, etc), burn gel, cold and heat packs, bandages, tweezers, shears or scissors(hospital type), and a space blanket. I also keep about 4-5 dollars worth of quarters. I think the ultimate along with an o2 set up would be your own aed but that's out of the reach of most people at this point. And if you get a DAN o2 I think that would be great and ask for the o2 course with it! Then later you could always add the remo kit and course.

Ask your wife/girlfriend for a few thin sanitary pads. Works for bleeding. Ace/wrap bandages. Notebook and pen/pencils. Tape.

We have fully stocked Trauma kits available thru our web site. drop me a line if I can help!

Unless you've been professionally trained and experienced in using the air bag (I'm assuming that you're referring to resuscitation bags) I would leave it out of the kit and stick with mouth to mask breathing. They're not as easy to use as they look and I've bagged a lot of patients. Rather take that money and use it to buy extra of the stuff that you're very likely to need...bandages, splints, and whatnot.

I think you've got a really good idea. Check out http://www.galls.com/category2.html?assort=general_catalog&cat=2720
they carry everything you're looking for and more.
