We have the crappiest house, in a nice neighborhood.

Some front yard visitors (There were actually three bucks, but I could only get two in the photo at once).

A back yard visitor. We have turkeys, possums, skunks, , racoons, squirrels, hawks, owls, and tons of other types of birds right now.

We have lots of dive sites and launching sites to choose from.

Still Water Cove Sonoma County, after a big storm that ripped the kelp out and tossed it far up the beach. The kelp is over knee deep in some spots.

Gerstle Cove in Salt Point State Park.

Van Damme State Park in Mendocino County.

Point Lobos State Park is always good for diving and hiking, being one of the most scenic parts of the California coast.

Respect the ocean! This was a 15 foot swell day, but the buoys have recorded 34 foot. This IS one of our dive sites shown in the photo below.

Wave3_whaleboy.jpg

We have some incredible wildlife in the Pacific Ocean too. This grey whale wandered between the rocks at Gerstle Cove.

This basking shark is bigger than the boat! We have otters, sea lions, harbor seals, sharks both large and small, a growing whale population, dolphins, and many other interesting creatures.

Peter, a bunch of your photos didn't come through!

BTW, Peter and I are going to be out on the coast the 23rd through 25th of June, looking for places to dive . . .

I work right inside those front 3 windows.

I sleep right below them.

I dive out that opening in the bulwarks on the side, and I go home at the back.

Life is amazing!!!

I live here six months of the year

I might be able to join you on the 23rd?? You are bringing scooters right? I can point you towards whatever type of dive site you want along the North Coast. Wanna see a metridium? LOL

Forgive my pedantry, Peter, but that's a basking shark. And you guys are damn lucky to have seen it!

Doh! I know the difference too. Thanks for pointing that out. Can I claim I was tired last night when I wrote that? Heck I failed to get the pictures to post even.

John Y. has over 800 dives in the area, and takes his boat out all the time, and has never seen a basking shark. I still catch flack for not calling him on the radio.

There used to be hundreds and hundreds of them all along the coast...right up until they were considered a navigation hazard. Up North they built a ship with a spike on the front to ram them, killing the basking sharks. Of course they have giant fins for shark fin soup too.
